Utah Games

We have season tickets again this year, and are so excited that another season has begun. These pictures are from last week's game when it was about 90 degrees and right in the middle of the day. This is what happens when we take the kids to a game during nap time.

We start out happy and excited. I know, you can't tell by the kids faces, but they are excited.

Ooh, lets get one with the field behind us. That'll be cute!

Then, one by one, they start falling asleep. Any way they can!
Jace is first.

Hunched over the seat. Very comfortable, I'm sure.
Notice how red Nixon's face is. It was soooo HOT!

Leila was next. We decided to put her under the bench to keep her out of the sun...guess our plan didn't work too well. Her face is right in the sun!

She stayed asleep there for about an hour. We were so glad nobody on the row above us spilled their drink!

And finally Nixon succumbed as well. Again, very comfortable.

And here's a family picture after they had all fallen asleep. Leila is under our legs, so you can't see her.

They all woke up by about half time, and we were all excited to cheer our Utes to another victory! GO UTES! Looking forward to another fun-filled football season!

The New ME!

If you know me well, you know that I change my hair just about as often as I change my clothes! I get bored so I go brown, or blonde, or really blonde, or....SHORT!

Before...

During...that's my sad little ponytail.

After...roots gone, 10 inches gone!

Side view.

The back. I love the back.

So far, so good. Thanks to my next door neighbor Lyndsey for the cute new do! I'll be back in a few months bored with this and ready to go brunette again...or something else crazy!

August 2010

August was a very busy month for us with soccer and school starting, me going back to work, birthdays, camping, the cabin, playing with friends, and so much more. I hope you enjoy some photos because there are a lot. I thought this blogging-by-the-month idea was a good one. I'm not so sure about it anymore. July and August's posts are like a million pictures each! I guess I should start breaking down each activity again.
We went to the park with my ladies and tried to get a picture of all of the kids. Nice try, anyway.
Some how Nixon always ends up hurt. This time he slipped and fell and slammed his head on the cement. He hair is soaked because it had been raining for like 30 minutes before we decided to call it a day!
August 6-7 was our ward camp out. I am still on the activities committee, so we went. Brock and I decided that we're glad that we've been on the committee for so long because it forces us to go to the activities we would normally miss. Trust me, I would have definitely passed at the opportunity to go camping with a 3 1/2 month old otherwise! We had so much fun, and the boys just loved it. Leila slept through the night (you'll see why she did so well when you see our accommodations!)
Here is the cabin on the property we stayed on.
Here is the beautiful kitchen we got to prepare the yummy dinner and breakfast in.
And here is the room Leila and I slept in. Now we're talking. This is just the kind of "camping" I like. Sorry its blurry. Jace and Nixon really wanted to sleep in a tent like everyone else, so Brock and the boys slept outside. They loved it.
They had a really fun tire swing.
The next morning we had a golf tournament on the 3 whole, 3 par golf course on the property. Again, my kind of camping!
We had a scavenger hunt for the kids and here are Jace and Nixon looking over their paper to see what they need to find.
Here they are looking snazzy in their jammies and jackets. Playing with friends.
August 9th was my grandpa Sanders 91st birthday! We all gathered in his home for some cake and ice cream. Love you grandpa, and wish you many more!
August 10th was my oldest brother Justin's 34th birthday. We went to dinner at The Pie, and on another night we got together for cake and ice cream at Dane and Annie's house (aka my parents house)
The weekend of August 13th we decided to head up to Brock's grandparent's cabin. We stopped at a waterfall on the way.

Here we are canoeing.

I'm not sure where I was when this was happening, but looks like fun!

We hiked up to Ruth Lake. So pretty.

Brett is about to throw that huge log into the lake.

There it goes! What is it with boys and throwing stuff in water?

Leila enjoying the peaceful serenity.

The boys playing in the freezing water with their cousin Beckett.

Brock's cute legs.

Jace with Grandma K and Brenda.

Motion shot! Here we are hiking down.

Here are some cute Leila shots. She just loves to stand. Nixon loves to help her.

Jace had his first soccer game on the 24th, and has really been doing well. He has scored 2 goals at each of his games, and stays focused a lot longer than he did last year.

I started working again on the 16th at Heritage Festivals. Its the same place I worked last year. And since I went back, that means the kids are back in school. Its Brock's mom's daycare at Woods Cross High School. The boys were so excited (maybe a little too excited!) and Leila has been doing great.
Here are the kids on their first day back. (August 25th)

They couldn't wait to go play with all their friends that they had missed during the summer.

Leila on her first day ever.

My little miss is 4 1/2 months old now. I just can't believe how time flies! Here are some cute shots of her.

The boys at Grandma and Grandpa K's doing some golfing.

We saw this beautiful rainbow on the way to dinner for my sister-in-law Annie's 31st birthday on the 27th. Unfortunately, its the only picture I took that night. Sorry Annie!
