Father's Day

This year for Father's Day all Brock wanted was to sleep in. He ran the Wasatch Back, which is a Ragnar relay race from Logan to Park City. That's 188 miles for those that don't know. He was on a team of 12 people who each ran three legs over a couple of days. Actually, they came in at about 27 hours which is really good. Anyway, he got home around 7:00 on Saturday night, and was exhausted. So exhausted in fact, that when he went to bed at 10:15 he didn't hear Nixon come in at 10:30 with a poopy diaper that was so painful on his poor diaper rash that he was crying. Nor did he hear when Nixon threw up all over his bed at 3:00, or when Jace came in and told us he had to go to the bathroom at 3:30, or when Leila woke up at 4:30 to eat, and then when I laid her back down at 4:45 she decided she wasn't quite full. Then, he didn't hear me as I was walking back to our room at 5:00 and Nixon was so sick still that he needed me to hold him, and tickle his back and arms and legs until he fell asleep in the hallway. This did wake Jace up though, so we chatted until about 5:30. Keep in mind that I am the worst sleeper on the planet, so I was just awake the entire time from 3:00 to 6:00. I figured that at least they'd all sleep in since we were up half the night, but no. Jace came in at 7:30, and in order to give Brock his one present (sleep) I dragged myself out of bed and downstairs. Nixon heard us, and came down, and Leila was next. When Brock finally came down at 11:00 and asked how the night went, I tried not to be mad, but I don't think I hid it very well.
We went and saw Toy Story 3, which we all loved, and then came home for naps. I got about 20 minutes. Then it was off to Brock's aunt Brenda's house for dinner and playing in her big backyard. By this time I was pretty exhausted, and feeling like I might be coming down with whatever bug Nixon and Jace had. Dinner was delicious as usual, and we even had s'mores! They had set up the sprinkler under the trampoline and Jace really loved that.

The boys love watching Brett play with his Iphone.
Here's Brock jumping through the sprinklers to show the boys how fun it is!
Sweet Nixon.

Jace on the tramp.

Leila watching the boys play.

Grandpa and Nix relaxing on the hammock.

It looked so nice, that Leila and I had to get in on the action.
Unfortunately, I was not able to see my dad again this year on Father's Day, but I sent him a card telling him how much I love him and how lucky I am to be his daughter. I hope you know Dad, just how much you mean to me, and I hope you had a great day! And to my father-in-law, how lucky I am to be a part of your family. You are so caring and thoughtful. I appreciate everything you do for our family, and how much you love me and my kids. I am grateful for the example you were, and are to Brock of what a good father and husband is. And Brock, how lucky our kids are to have you as their father. I am so grateful that I get to see that part of you every day. You were made to be a dad, and you are so good at it. I love you all so much, and thank you for all you do to make our world go 'round. Happy Father's Day!

Jordan High School Class of 2000, 10 Year Reunion

A couple of weeks ago I had my 10 year reunion. I know, I can't believe it's been that long either! It was actually pretty fun. Catered by Cafe Rio, one of our faves, and emceed by an okay comedian. It was kind of sad though when, at one point, the comedian said, "Let me guess...this table was the cheerleaders." He was right. We just laughed, but I thought Dang! He can tell??? Anyway, we played a trivia game about high school, and those days, and also about everything since then. We each had a buzzer thing with a number on it, and at the end of the first game guess who was in second place? Nope, me! So the kid who was in first (don't remember him) and I went to the front to win our prizes, but first we had to sing karaoke to see which one of us really got the prize. I was totally embarrassed, but sang Abba's "Dancing Queen" and then he sang "I Will Survive". Then everyone voted, and I won! Woo Hoo! Then I found out I had done all that for $10 to Target. Whoopee.
Anyway, it was really fun to see that everyone pretty much looks the same, and I really only hung out with my girlfriends that I see just about weekly, so I had a good time! It will be interesting to see everyone in 10 more years! I wish some more people would have come. There were about 200, but I would have liked to have seen some people that weren't there.

Here are the ladies: Obviously we all wanted to look thin! We're almost all wearing black!

Talitha, Shandra, Lindsey, Lisa, Anna, Me, Jenn, Natalie.

And here we are with our husbands...and Greg. We met at a yogurt place afterwards.

Go Beetdiggers!

Hogle Zoo

My brother Justin called us this morning inviting us to the zoo. It looked like it was going to be a nice day, so we decided to go. It ended up being perfect. Overcast, and not too hot at all. As soon as we got in our car to leave it started raining. The boys had so much fun with Justin and Maria, and her brother and sister-in-law, and their son Sam.

Here they are with Justin in front of the elephants. You can see Zuri, the baby elephant way in the back. The boys loved him.

Leila slept the whole time. Like usual.

Nixon looks like a native with his eyes squinted like that! He's our little blond haired, blue eyed Asian baby.

Thanks Justin and Maria for letting us tag along!

T-Ball

Jace is too young to play league T-ball this year, so our neighborhood got together and created our own for the 3 and 4 year olds. They had a blast, and it was so much fun to watch. I love that their shirts go down to their knees too. It adds to the cuteness.

Check out the kid in the background. I guess its just a natural part of baseball.

Nail Polish

So the other day, while I was feeding Leila, I was sitting at the computer passing time. I started to smell something quite pungent from my room, and fearing that Nixon was drinking a bottle of nail polish remover, I jumped up and ran in my room. (Not the easiest task while breast feeding). I discovered my sweet Nixon covered in nail polish holding the broken bottle and letting it drip all over himself and my bed. I couldn't figure out how he could have broken it until I saw the other bottle next to it. I guess he was hitting them together to hear the fun sound glass makes until the one broke. Anyway, lets just say I am so grateful the bottle of clear nail polish broke, and not the black one! This could have been way worse! And yes, he is smiling in the picture. That's what he does when he sees the camera.

Learning To Smile

Leila is smiling more and more every day, but she is still trying to get the hang of it. It starts out as a tiny squint of the eyes, and by the end she loses control and just opens her mouth really wide. We sure love this little one!

St. George

Brock and I had our 7 year anniversary on the 28th, and decided to head down to St. George with the kids to celebrate. We stayed with Nolan and Treo and had so much fun.

Saturday we went to a fun park with a splash pad and the kids had lots of fun. My camera died after these two pictures though. Here is Nixon and Jaylee playing in the water. Well, trying not to let the water actually touch them.

Then we went back to the pool by Nolan and Treo's house.
Jace made a house boat and had fun floating around.

Nixon looks like he has huge muscles with his floaties on.

Sunday we decided it would be fun to get a hotel and spend the night there, so we checked in and went swimming at their pool.

Leila thought it was more fun in her car seat.

She was pretty worn out from going near the water.

We went to a BBQ at Treo's brother's house, and then came back for some night swimming. We thought we'd have it all to ourselves at 9:45pm, but no. It was packed!

I love Nixon in his floaties. He had an itch on his neck and it was hilarious watching him try to reach it. I know, I know. I'm a pretty mean mom. I just sat back and laughed.

The boys jumping to daddy. Nixon tried floaties for his first time. He got pretty good with them. Very brave.

My cute boys.

Leila and I just relaxed by the hot tub. Nixon came to join us and soak his feet. This was when he had the itch. After watching him suffer for a minute, I took off the floaties and let him scratch his neck.
Monday Nolan, Treo, and Jaylee joined us at our hotel.

We had so much fun thanks to Nolan and Treo, and their hospitality. We wish we could see them more often! Leila did so great while we were there, sleeping 8 1/2 hours at a time at night! One night she slept from 10 to 6:30, then ate and fell back asleep until 10! It was wonderful. We are really loving this little one!
Also, I want to say Happy 7th Anniversary to my sweet husband. You are just the greatest. I love you so much, and am so happy to know you!
