Christmas Eve

We celebrated Christmas Eve at Brett and Kallie's house with the usual steak and baked potato dinner.  It was delicious as always.  We then did our fun poppers and got pictures with our crowns on.  Then we let the kids put their Christmas jammies on, and watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas.  Brock read the story from the Bible, and Kallie read a fun kids version.  Then the kids got dressed up as the Nativity.  We always have so much fun on Christmas Eve.

 We then went home and set out a plate of cookies and milk for Santa, and Nixon insisted on carrots for the reindeer.  Jace left notes, so that they would know who they were for :)

Christmas Sunday

The Sunday before Christmas is always a special one, so I like to get the kids a new Christmas outfit to wear to church.  This year I found a beautiful sparkly red dress for Leila, and matching red and gray striped ties for the boys.  I think they looked so cute!  Getting a picture of this was a different story though.  I had forgotten to get one before church, so it was afterwards when they were all restless and hungry, so really, what did I expect?

Goodbye Jenn!

A few friends got together for one last girl's night out with Jenn before she and Seth move to New York.  Seth got accepted at Columbia, so they are moving for at least a year and a half, and then probably even longer depending on where he gets a job.  We went to dinner, and then just walked around the mall and then finally sat in the chairs at the Nordstrom Cafe and chatted until they started turning the lights off in the mall.  I sure love this sweet friend of mine, and will miss her so much.

Keddington Christmas Party

We had breakfast with all of the Keddingtons, or as many as could come.  There were lots of people there, and the kids had lots of fun.  We had the usual scones, ham, and hash browns.  It was so good, as always!  This year, we even had a visitor!  Santa came!  The kids took their turns sitting on his lap telling him what they want for Christmas.  Talon cried of course.  Brock and Jace missed the whole thing because Jace had a basketball game.  Bummer.

Jace's Class Christmas Party

I didn't sign up to help with Jace's Christmas Party, because I had signed up and already helped with his Halloween party, and I didn't want to press my luck with him.  I got a call from one of the room mothers though, a few weeks before the party, asking if I could help.  I was so excited!  Anyway, I picked the activity that I thought Jace would like the most, and helped with that.  I ended up doing a toilet paper snowman game where each group of kids gets a roll of toilet paper, three circles, an orange triangle for a nose, and a scarf, and they have to wrap up one of the kids in the toilet paper, tape the three circles to his belly for buttons, the triangle on his nose, and then wrap the scarf around his neck before the other team does.  It was lots of fun, and I think the kids liked it.  I also bought these crazy loud noisemakers for the kids as a prize, and they loved that too.  I always hate when my kids come home with these loud annoying toys, and it was ME this time who bought them!  There were 5 stations, and Jace had lots of fun.  I love being able to see him at these kinds of things.

Nixon's Kindergarten Christmas Program

It was so fun to go watch Nixon perform with the whole kindergarten.  They sang lots of fun Holiday songs, and even sang a song in French!
