Aspen Grove Day 2

Thanksgiving Day

Day 2 started with the Turkey Bowl.  It was much better conditions this year than in 2010.  There was no snow at all on the field!  So instead of tackle, they played flag football this time.  By the time I got out there, maybe half way through the game, there were already a few players out with some pulled muscles and rolled ankles, and the rest were pretty tired and out of breath.  I guess we're all starting to get old!  The kids were able to play at the park, and roll down the hills instead of sledding like last time.

Justin ran in all the way in for a touch down on this play!

Brock had a bunch of great plays.  He's still in pretty great shape for being 35 ;)

Uncle Nolan going for a catch, or maybe an interception!

Dave Phillips going for a catch!  The younger boys could have played all day.

Daddy makes the catch and is trying to escape Chris Norton's wrath!

There was a fun fire truck on the playground that the kids had a good time playing on

Back inside Robin always had a game ready.  This time it was for the little kids.  They got in two lines and had to race against each other to their team box, take their shoes off, and run to the back of the line.  Then the next would go and do the same.  Once the line was finished taking their shoes off, they had to do it again, but this time they had to find their shoes and put them back on before running back to the back of the line.  They thought this was pretty fun.

Even Leila played, and besides the fact that she put her shoes on the wrong feet, she did great!

Bella, and my cousin Chris's step daughter Hailey
Next up for the kids was to get into two lines again and walk with a potato between their legs to a paper bag.  They'd drop it in, and then run to the back of their line.  This game proved to be a little more difficult!
Jaylee in action

We had all of our past reunion shirts displayed throughout the reunion.  It was fun to remember some of the fun times we've had as a family.  We had many more reunions than there are shirts, but didn't always make shirts.

Before our big Thanksgiving feast, some families went outside to get some pictures taken in the beautiful scenery.  Here are Nolan and Treo and fam.  Treo is 30 weeks pregnant here.  Not fair.

Then the time finally came for dinner!  It was delicious, and so well organized.  We had lots of turkeys and about a million sides to choose from.  Everything was really good.

After dinner we headed outside for our group picture.  Thanks to my cousin Jeremy for ordering shirts for everyone.  The pictures turned out pretty good!

Then it was time for the "Left Right Game".  Everyone gathered in a circle with their presents and got ready to play.  Uncle Todd was the story reader.

Then it was time for more games.  Robin really had this planned perfectly.  There was never a time when we had nothing to do.  First was a little song and dance where everyone tried to do a different action with each part of their body.  It was pretty funny.

Then we started the famous bag game.  I was sad that I couldn't really participate being 37 weeks pregnant!  I was a co-champion last time, and would have liked to have won back to back titles, but no.  I made it quite a few rounds though!

Nolan went and changed into some more appropriate clothes for bending

Leah has about half an inch to grab for the final round, and she did it!  She was the winner of the kids

And here's Abby about to win for the adults

Dane was showing us how it was done

Then it was time for another kids game.  The kids sure had fun with Aunt Robin

Its Nixon's turn here, so he covers his eyes

Grandpa started a game of Parcheesi with a few of his grand kids, but soon it was just him and Jace left.

We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving Day, and it is always so fun to be surrounded by loved ones, especially ones we don't get to see very often.
