Day Two: Swimming

We swam all morning the next day. The kids have a blast swimming with Daddy!

This trick was "freaking Jace out!"

Leila was loving it!

Nixon had fun hanging out in the kid pool.

Jace loves not having to wear his floaties. He is getting so good at swimming on his own. He swam from one end of the pool to the other with no floaties, and no help from Mom or Dad. Then, he had to show off for Daddy and Aunt Brenda and swim there and back! He is awesome! He's our little fish! He would stay in the water from the time we got to the pool to the time we left every day.

I had to get a picture of Leila's long flowing locks!

She liked the little pool too because she could walk around.

Daddy thought she needed some "under water time". She wasn't too big of a fan, but didn't cry.

Brett tied the noodle around Beckett for more floatation. Beckett loved it!

Jace and Nixon love to blow into the noodles and spray water at each other.

After swimming, Daddy, Brett, and Grandpa went golfing, so the rest of us went to lunch, and then to an Animal Museum. I didn't take my camera, so I got a few pictures on my phone, but don't have them downloaded yet.

That night, Natalie, Kallie, and Grandma went to see "Grease" and when the boys got home from Golfing we went to dinner. Fun-filled day number 2.

UEA Weekend in St. George

Day One: The drive down, and "The Little Mermaid"

I always think it's amazing that kids can fall asleep in their car seats sitting straight up. Here are a couple shots of Nixon on the drive down.

We got to the hotel, and got checked in, and then pretty much had to leave for the show. We went to "The Little Mermaid" at Tuacahn theater, and it was really fun. The show was talked up a little too much, so I was kind of disappointed, but overall it was good. We just wish the girl who played Ariel was a little bit of a better singer. Well, a lot better. I felt like I was partially disappointed because it is my favorite Disney movie, and I just wanted it to be exactly like the movie. Of course it couldn't be. I loved all the songs from the movie, and I loved the way they did everything, and the scenery, but any time they sang an original song I was bored. Anyway, enough about that. Here are some pictures. We only brought Jace with us.

Grandma K, Natalie, and Kallie came too.

We grabbed a quick bite to eat before the show started.

Waiting for the show to start. I wish you could see the background. Tuacahn is absolutely beautiful!

Good thing we only brought Jace, because at intermission he was ready to go home. He laid down and slept the rest of the show.

I'm glad we went, and I did like it, but it wasn't the most amazing show I'd ever seen, like I was expecting it to be.

Nixon!!!

Can't I just leave the kids alone for a second to get some stuff done around here??? I guess not. We are going to St. George tomorrow, so I was packing all the kids and myself, and doing laundry, and after a while I went in to Nixon and Jace's room to find Nixon on his bed with Leila and...MARKERS! Green and orange markers. I wouldn't have cared if he had just kept it on their skin, but no, he had to go and mark up her brand new sweater, jeans, and boots! SO MAD! I was even mad while taking pictures. It came out of the sweater, but the test will be the suede boots. I can't wash them! Today was her first day wearing them, and yes, I'm still mad.

Luckily, he used orange on her boots, and you can't see it very well. And in these pictures you can't see any of it at all on her clothes, but it's there! NIXON!!!!

Mueller Park Canyon

Last night we went up the canyon to roast hot dogs, and marshmallows, and play with The Keddingtons. Grandma and Grandpa K were there, so were Brenda, Steve, and Chloe. Kallie, Brett and their kids, and Natalie. Uncle Randy and Grandma Bills even came. It was fun, but way too cold! It was perfect at our house, so I didn't dress the kids warm enough. When we got up there and got out of the car, I about died! It was like 20 degrees colder! We put on our jackets, and the kids had fun anyway.

Jace roasted our hot dogs since Brock got stuck at work.

The boys were all running around playing, so Leila thought she needed to join in.

Justin Came to Babysit

Brock and I planned a fun date night to Park City for some shopping and then dinner at Ruth's Chris. Whenever we need a babysitter, we call uncle Justin first. The kids love him, and he loves them, so it's pretty perfect! While we were out shopping, I got a text from him asking, "Does Leila know when she's done eating? She just keeps going and going and going." Brock and I had a good laugh over that one. She's quite the eater!
Anyway, we came home to this. All the kids were sleeping around him. So cute!

Nixon did have his head on Justin's leg, and then moved when we got there.

Leila is a Messy Eater

I took some pictures during lunch the other day to try to capture how messy Leila is when she eats. Mac and cheese just doesn't quite give the picture I was going for, but she was messy none the less. I always give her a fork, but she usually just holds it in one hand while shoveling the food into her mouth with the other. I almost always have to strip her down to a diaper at every meal too or she would ruin everything she owns!

Somehow, more than half of her food ends up on her body somewhere (or everywhere), and in her chair. I come over, gather all the droppings, put them back in her bowl, and she has seconds. Repeat that process a few times, and she usually ends up having thirds and fourths too!
