Pioneer Day Celebrations

Since Pioneer Day fell on a Sunday this year, I got Monday, the 25th off of work. Brock took the Friday before off instead, so I had the kids to myself. A new park and splash pad was built in our neighborhood, and opened up recently, so we decided to go check it out. The kids had lots of fun, and it was perfectly overcast, so it was warm, but we weren't dying of heat.

Cute Nixon

Jace scaling the strange curved rock wall.

Miss Leila wants to be big, and do everything her brothers do.

Jace wanted to stay at the park and play, so I took Nixon and Leila to check out the splash pad.

Leila is at the age where she points to everything and everyone. It's usually accompanied by "Eh?"

Love my cute kids!

She thought this towel was a nice blankie, so she cuddled up with it.

Then it was back to the park when they got too cold.

That night we went to Brett and Kallie's for a barbecue and some fireworks. We started out with sparklers.

I love that Nixon sucks in his cheeks when he's concentrating. I used to (actually still) do that all the time!

Mr. Beckett is pretty intrigued!

Leila wasn't a big fan.

Here's the whole group, minus me, taking the picture, and Brett, the firework lighter.

Steve, Natalie, Nixon, Becket, Leila, Brock, Jace, Grandma B., Brenda, Grandma K., Griffin, Kallie, and Grandpa K.

Brett, lighting them up.

It started sprinkling for a second and Grandma B didn't want to mess up her hairdo! Jace is still a little wet from throwing water balloons.
