Grandfather's 90th Birthday

My grandfather, Charles Bartlett Bingham turned 90 on Saturday, April 23rd, and the whole Bingham clan decided to celebrate! Brock and I were somehow not included in the emails about time, so we showed up a couple of hours late (who plans a party at 11:00am??? a little bitter? yes.) We came in time to listen to a few of everyone's fondest memories of Grandfather, and to hear Julia sing a song for him.
My grandfather is one of the best men I know. It was so fun to listen to all of the fun memories people had, and all of the fun things we did with our grandfather. Growing up, we were not allowed to call him anything but Grandfather. He'd correct us if we did :) Whenever we would take friends or cousins from the Sanders side to his ranch in Veyo, he would insist that they call him Grandfather as well. Anyway, that's just one of the millions of fun things about him.
He suffers from Alzheimer's, and it's actually quite sad. He doesn't remember much anymore, but even though he doesn't recognize most of us, he is still so sweet, and really tries to talk to us, and get to know us all over again. His wife of 8 years, Elaine, just passed away about 2 weeks ago, and he is trying to get into a new groove. We sure love our Grandfather, and hope for many more birthdays!

Here is everyone enjoying Julia's song.

This one's blurry, but it's my uncles Tab, Craig, Chuck, and my cousin Shad.

Nolan and Treo came into town for the party, so we had to get some pictures of Mr. Kash. He's 3 and a half months younger than Leila, but practically just as big!

Miss Leila is standing all over the place now. When we left on our cruise she would barely pull herself to her knees, and when we got back she was pulling herself to standing on anything she could! Maybe she'll be walking sooner than we thought!

Such a big girl!

When it comes to walking you just never know. You were so active, crawling, pulling yourself up, scooting around, but you didn't learn to walk until you were about 17 months.
