Maui!!!

We were so lucky to have been able to go to Maui for our family vacation this year.  With my parents coming home and my mom having over a month off time off before she had to head back to work, they wanted to plan a fun trip that everyone in the family could go on together.  Since they own condo's in Maui, we all decided that this would be the trip of a lifetime!  My parents were kind enough to use their skymiles to get all of the grandkids over there, so that we all just had to find the money to get ourselves there.  This trip has been in the works for over a year now, and I just can't believe it's over!!  We had so much fun, and this is something that we will never forget!  It was so great to have everyone together for a whole week, and in Hawaii no less.  In all, there were 20 of us!  Day one was just traveling.  Julia was on her own flight ( found her a cheap flight on United that the rest of us couldn't take since our kids were on Delta).  She arrived in Maui at around 10:30am, and had to wait for the rest of us to get there.  After sitting in the airport for a few hours, she decided to rent a car and head to the hotel to lay out while waiting for us.  Nolan and Treo had their own flights out of Las Vegas since they live in St. George, and were supposed to get in that night around 6:30pm, but because of some crappy United mess ups, they ended up getting in after 10.  The rest of us were on the Delta flights at 3:00.  We had a layover in LAX for a couple of hours, and then were on our way to Maui.  I didn't take a single picture of day one!  Our flight arrived right on time at 8:30, and by the time we got our rental cars, and luggage, and drove the 45 minutes to the hotel, we were all pretty exhausted to say the least.  We went right to bed.  All of the kids were really great with all of that traveling, and slept great the first night.  Of course, with the 4 hour time difference, we didn't get to sleep until 2 or 3 in the morning.  We woke up pretty early, again because of the time difference, and the kids were so excited to look out on our balcony and see the ocean!

We went to a nearby mall for breakfast with everyone, and then most everyone went grocery shopping.  We decided to go swimming instead, so we headed to the Pirate Ship pool.  Our hotel has several pools, and this one is so great for kids.  It never gets more than about 2 feet deep at any point, and there is a fun pirate ship with slides and spraying water.  We spent most of our time here.  Leila is my little model, and loved posing for me!

Nixon was wearing one of Jace's old swimming suits, and it didn't quite fit.  I hate when the draw string isn't real too!  He didn't care though!

Leila got to go down the slide with Jace

Nixon and Jace had so much fun here

Then, Jace remembered from our last trip here, that there was a pool with a big slide.  We headed over to that pool next. Brock had fun going down the slide with the boys.  It looks like he's plugging his nose, but to keep his manhood in tact, you should know that he is just holding his arms up by his face.

Their first time down, Nixon and Jace were sitting up.  Brock told them that if they laid on their backs they would go faster.  He was right!  As soon as Jace came out of the water on his second time down, he yelled "That was AWESOME!"  From then on, they were laying down every time!

We still hadn't had enough, so we decided to check out the beach.  We just love the beach!  It's perfect right outside the hotel because there are no big waves, so the kids can just have a good time, and we don't have to worry about them getting tumbled in the waves!

Loving Nixon's cute bum!

Jace was being a sand monster throwing sand into the water
Leila was loving all the sand!

Beach Bums
We headed in for lunch and naps, and then headed to the grocery store to get things for the week.  My parents made taco salad for dinner and we just hung out in the hotel for the night.  We were all still pretty tired from the time change, so we headed to bed pretty early.
