Jace's Bowling Party

On Friday, September 30th, we had a bowling party for Jace and some of his friends. We had so much fun! It was nice to have bumpers set up, as well as the ramps that the kids could push the ball down.

I was so surprised that we got through the whole night without any pinched fingers or toes! The kids were fascinated watching the ball come out of the hole. And I know that Nixon dropped his ball about 15 times.

Then we had pizza and lemonade.

Jack C., Jack M., Hailey, and Beckett

Easton, Nick, Nixon, Keaton, and Ben

Leah and Bella

Madelyn, Izabell, Max, Jace, and Brock

Miss Leila was feeling really sick all night. She was really hot, and didn't want to do anything but sit in Grandpa's arms the whole night.

Poor baby.

Here is the whole gang. Nick and Max made sure to show their Ute pride.

Then it was cupcake time! When I got done making this, Brock said, "What's that supposed to be?" Ha ha, very funny. I know it's not the best, but I thought it was pretty clever!

He needs everyone to be quiet so he can hear us sing happy birthday to him.

My hand is in the picture because I am trying to block the air from the fan so that the candles wouldn't blow out.

Jace got some frosting right next to his elbow, and is trying to lick it off. Had to get that picture!

Nick got a little messy!

Present time!

I love that all of the kids huddle around to see everything.

Whoa! Pretty good! Thanks everyone! He's set until at least Christmas!

Star of the Week

Since Jace's birthday was coming up, he got to be star of the week in his class at school. This means he takes a poster in with things he likes, and all during the week he gets special privileges, like being the line leader every time they went somewhere. It also meant that on Friday, Brock and I got to go be his special guests and talk about our Jace. He wanted suckers for everyone, so we brought that for a treat too.

Before we were up, they all sat in their seats and got started on their letters of the day - Y and Z.

Then, after they had all handed in their homework for the week, and put all of their things away, they were asked to come sit on the carpet. Brock went up with Jace and told all about his poster.

He likes to play soccer, and baseball, and watch football. He loves the Utes. He loves to read, and likes Spiderman and Batman. He loves to play the Wii, and Xbox, and his favorite show right now is Phineas and Ferb.

Then Jace was going to read one of his favorite books to everyone, but got a little nervous. The kids thought he was pretty funny. Little did they know how much he loves making everyone laugh! He kept egging them on.

Then it was daddy to the rescue to read the book for him.

It was so much fun to go to Jace's class and see him with all of his school friends. Jace is in the French Immersion program at his school, which means that half of his day is taught in French. As we were leaving, his teacher got her French necklace out. The kids know that once she puts the necklace on, she becomes Madame Taylor, and no longer speaks any English - at all. They all started yelling No! No! as soon as she got it. Then she put it on and started speaking in French, and all of the kids were laughing and talking back to her. It's pretty amazing how quickly they've been picking it up. Jace can already count to 20, say all of the colors and shapes, and many other phrases. His favorite right now is "a demain!", "au revoir!" Pronounced Aw dema, oh vwah. It means, see you tomorrow, bye! Jace has just loved being in Kindergarten.

Jace's Birthday Outing

Grandma and Grandpa K wanted to take Jace out for his birthday. He had so much fun! They went to a fun learning store in Union Park and Jace had a blast playing with all the fun games and toys. Then he got to go anywhere he wanted for dinner, and he picked Olive Garden. He loves to get their mac and cheese and he loves even more that they grate extra cheese right on it for him! Then they went to Target and he got to pick out a toy for that night, and a present for his birthday. He wouldn't tell me and Brock what his present was, but said it was kind of scary. Shauna didn't come in, so she's not in the pictures, but here is Jace and Grandpa after their fun night out.

Jace picked a grabber thing for his toy.

Our kids are so lucky to have such fun grandparents!

Uncle Justin Came to...Play?

Or did he come to torture my children? We always love when Justin comes for a visit. This time he had fun with a plastic beaded necklace. The kids? They didn't think it was quite as fun.

This is her "trying to get out" face. She makes it when she's trying to get unbuckled too, or when she's trying really hard to open something.

Jace asked Justin to do it to him, and then once he realized he was really stuck he got a little freaked out. He finally knows what it's like to have an older brother.

Justin thinks he's pretty funny.

Messy Miss Leila

Leila got a hold of a blue ring pop the other day and was in heaven! We took her binkie away a couple of months ago, and she sucked on this thing like it was a long lost binkie. She put it in, and didn't take it out until it was practically gone. That makes for one messy face!

We still think she's pretty cute!

Foxboro Elementary Carnival

Since Jace actually goes to Foxboro Elementary now, we decided to go to their carnival. I was supposed to go volunteer from 5-6, so Dale and Shauna brought the kids over around 5:45. We went around and did about every game and bounce house they had. Then Daddy met us and we had hot dogs and nachos for dinner. Dale and Shauna left, and we took the kids around for round 2. They had lots of fun.

Nixon picking his prize. He usually picked a sucker, and probably ate about 10.

Jace playing basketball.

And Nix

Leila and I pretty much just stood around watching.

Or she would pose for me!

Leila and I waited in the longest line while the boys played. We waited for about an hour until the boys met up with us and then they waited with us. We finally decided that there was probably another 30-45 minutes to wait, so we left. I didn't even care. I was sick of that line! While we were waiting though, Jace played with Leila. He loves when I tickle his back, and when I looked down, he was tickling hers! So cute!

Uh Oh

I think I've created a monster! Or is loving shoes really something that I could have already taught my 17 month old?? Leila LOVES shoes. All shoes. Dad's flip flops, to mom's heals, to Jace's tennis shoes, amongst all of her own. If she's not wearing shoes, she brings me a pair to put on her. Not just hers, but any pair that she sees lying around. If she's already wearing shoes and sees another pair she tries to put them on over the ones she's already wearing. She always tries to put them on herself, but ends up getting frustrated and brings them to me to help.

Here she is wearing Jace's tennis shoes over her own sandals. This works best since it make them a nice tight fit, and they don't fall off as easily.

Here she is showing off a few of her favorite things. Climbing on chairs, smiling her cheesy smile, and wearing Jace's shoes.

Another Tooth!

Jace lost his second tooth. This one has been loose as long as the other one, but took much longer to come out. It had been really loose for a while, and was practically hanging by a thread before it fell out. Yes, it fell out. Jace said he almost swallowed it because it just fell into his mouth! He doesn't have anymore loose ones, so it will be a while before the tooth fairy visits our house again!

Didn't you always stick your tongue through the new gap in your teeth?!

BYU vs. Utah

Our next door neighbors are big BYU fans, and I just knew that they'd have their baby Lauren all dressed up on the day they played the U. Lauren is about 3 months younger than Leila. I took my little cheerleader over to get some pictures, but she had just woken from her nap, and wasn't the happiest little one!

Lauren's getting ready to start the trash talking.

And it begins...

Leila was too sensitive to handle it!

Lyndsey and me with our cute football fans!

We all know how the game ended. Let's just say we were happy at our house!
