Coach Pitch Champions!

Jace played in the end of season championships all week last week.  It was a single elimination tournament, so if they lost, they were done, but if they won, they kept playing every day.  Well, they won their games Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.  Thursday there were no games, and Friday they played in the championship!  Monday's game was really close.  My heart was beating like crazy the whole game.  I just kept thinking that if this is what it's like at 6 years old, what am I going to be like when he's in High School, and beyond??  We ended up winning, and then Tuesday's game was kind of sad for the other team.  It was FREEZING, and a bit rainy, so they only had 5 kids show up.  Our whole team was there, so we pretty much killed them.  I wasn't quite as nervous that game.  Then Wednesday, was a pretty easy game too.  Friday's game we were able to keep them scoreless for the first 3 innings, and then they scored 6 (I think).  In this league, at this age, they play each inning to 3 outs or 5 runs scored, and then in the tournament, you can score up to 10 in the last inning.  We got 5 runs every inning, and then 6 in the 4th (again, I think), so the final score was 21 - 6.  Anyway, I was so glad that we got the most stressful game out of the way on Monday!  These kids were so much fun to watch this year.  They all are really good, and their coaches were so great!  Jace had lots of fun, and is pretty excited about advancing to Machine Pitch in the fall!

Running to 3rd

Stretching out in the outfield

Jace got a few really good plays when he played left field.  He had some really good stops and throws to 3rd.

Running it in when we won the game!

Their coaches always make them run the bases after their games

They're all yelling "Thank You" to everyone who came to support them

Their coaches talking to them about their awesome year!

Jace with coach Skee.  They got huge trophies!  Jace got lifesavers because he was the "all arounder"

The Storm team, and their trophies

Now with the coaches - Kyle, Todd, and Skee

One last cheer!

I wanted a picture with Jace and his trophy, and he had put his lifesavers on all of his fingers, so he wanted to do this punching pose

My big guy

We had rootbeer floats after the game.  Yummy!

For the team party, coach Skee had everyone at his house to watch The Sandlot.  We were going to do it outside with the projector, but it was a bit windy, so we all headed downstairs and had it projected onto the wall.  The kids loved it!

Thanks everyone for such a great year!  Jace really loves baseball, and because of his great coaches his skills really improved throughout the season.  Can't wait for Fall Ball!
